Avengers: Secret Wars is scheduled for December 17, 2027, directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, with Robert Downey Jr. returning as Doctor Doom. No other cast and no trailer have been announced, and Marvel has not said which comic it adapts.

The comics behind the name

Two Marvel comics are called Secret Wars, and Doom ends both of them holding a god's power. In Secret Wars (1984–85), the Beyonder gathers heroes and villains on a patchwork planet called Battleworld, and Doom steals the Beyonder's power for himself (Marvel Super Heroes Secret Wars #10–11): see Beyonder-powered Doom.

In Secret Wars (2015), the multiverse ends, and Doom, holding the power of the Beyonders, builds a new Battleworld from the pieces and rules it as God Emperor until Reed Richards takes that power from him (Secret Wars #1–9): see God Emperor Doom.
