The verdict: Doom has the edge

Fight rules: both fighters at their peak, no preparation, no allies, only their own powers and personal gear. A win is a knockout, a restraint they can't escape, or a forced surrender. The percentages are fan estimates, not official information.

Doom's edge

Doom has beaten Wakanda once already: his nanites turned its own officials against it, and his coup handed him the world's largest supply of vibranium (Black Panther vol. 5 #7 to 12, 2009 to 2010). Shuri is a genius, but Doom is a genius and a sorcerer.

Shuri's edge

Genius-level invention, warrior training, vibranium gear and the ancestral powers she gained in the Djalia: a stone-like form that shrugs off gunfire and energy, super-speed, and the power to turn into a flock of birds (Black Panther, 2016 to 2017).

Odds against every version of Doom

Doom's chance of winning, version by version. The strongest Doom here, God Emperor Doom, wins >99% of the time; the weakest, Fox Doom (2005), wins 26%. The last column says what moves each version away from classic Doom's 68%.

Who is Shuri?

Real name: Shuri
First appearance: Black Panther vol. 4 #2 (May 2005)
Created by: Reginald Hudlin and John Romita Jr.
On screen: Letitia Wright (2018 to 2022), who returns in Avengers: Doomsday

Shuri is T'Challa's younger sister and one of Wakanda's great scientists. When T'Challa was badly wounded, she took up the mantle of the Black Panther (Black Panther vol. 5 #1 to 6, 2009). That was the year Doom came for Wakanda. He infected its officials with nanites, helped the Desturi overthrow the government and seized the world's largest vibranium supply. With Colossus, Nightcrawler and Wolverine, Shuri helped retake the country, and T'Challa ended the war by making all processed vibranium on Earth inert (Doomwar #1 to 6, 2010). She later died holding off Proxima Midnight so T'Challa could escape (New Avengers vol. 3 #24, 2014), and returned with new ancestral powers (Black Panther, 2016 to 2017).
