Raised by a criminal mastermind to be his weapon, Shang-Chi turned on his father in his first appearance (Special Marvel Edition #15, 1973) and starred in Master of Kung Fu for a decade. He joined the Avengers in 2013 (Avengers vol. 5 #1), took up the Ten Rings in a 2022 storyline, and joined the Winter Soldier's Thunderbolts in 2024 (Thunderbolts vol. 5 #4). He has never fought Doom in the comics.
