Fight rules: both fighters at their peak, no preparation, no allies, only their own powers and personal gear. A win is a knockout, a restraint they can't escape, or a forced surrender. The percentages are fan estimates, not official information.

Doom's edge

He has worn Johnny's body and flown it (FF #508). His armor has shrugged off Johnny's fire for decades, water and vacuum starve it, and mystic fire, like the hellfire that burned him in Unthinkable (FF vol. 3 #69), doesn't answer to him.

Human Torch's edge

Supersonic flight, a nova flame that peaks near a million degrees, total command of ordinary fire, and a speed and nerve that Doom keeps underestimating.

Odds against every version of Doom

Doom's chance of winning, version by version. The strongest Doom here, God Emperor Doom, wins >99% of the time; the weakest, Fox Doom (2005), wins 30%. The last column says what moves each version away from classic Doom's 72%.

Johnny Storm, Sue's younger brother, was a teenage hot-rodder from Glenville, Long Island, when he joined Reed's flight and came back able to burst into living flame and fly; he took the name of the World War II hero the original Human Torch. He grew from the team's hothead into a hero who has carried the Power Cosmic as a herald of Galactus (2005), died in the Negative Zone and come back (FF #587, 2011; FF #600), and served with the Avengers Unity Division. Doom rarely takes him seriously, yet he has worn Johnny's body (FF #508, 2004) and locked him in a tube of water for a public execution (FF vol. 6 #8, 2019). When Johnny's night with Victorious, Doom's bride, came out at the altar, Doom overloaded him with the Armagedron so that he couldn't flame off or touch anyone without burning them (FF vol. 6 #34, 2021).
